For my first NYDJ purchase I bought the Ira in my usual size, 20W. They were pretty big on me, and it wasn't until after a few wearings/launderings that I learned NYDJ recommends you buy one size smaller than your usual. (This seems like specious marketing to me - why not just make the sizing the same as everyone else, but apply it to a smaller size jean??) Anyway, so, that was at least a year ago. When I wanted a pair of olive jeans I bought these in 18W and they are just marginally too small. They were fine for trying on, and sitting down, but I could tell that over the course of a whole day they'd feel too tight. I sent them back.So frustrating! I first bought these in the heyburn wash color and I loved them! They fit perfectly in my usual size, the fold at the hem was not sewn, and they had the perfect amount of stretch without losing their shape-including the waistband. Love! So decided to order another pair in the dark enzyme color expecting the same great product. WRONG! This color is completely different. Stretch/fabric is different. The waistband has barely any stretch at all. They don't fit at the waist, but fine everywhere else. The fold at the hem is sewn (and too small of a fold-looks silly). Ugh-annoying! These should not be the same "name" as the heyburn wash. It's a completely different jean. These are going back ASAP!I love NYDJ, they are my go to for jeans, I have tried several other Brands and being a Plus size these fit and ordering a size small is the key. I ordered theses the size a ware hoping they would be Ok, no, I know better though. Still love the Jeans, the brand and the typical fit if you order right.Love the style and the material. It definitely has more stretch to it so be sure to order a size down. They weren't so large that I couldn't wear them but I will be ordering 1 size smaller for a more "fitted" feel, where both will be comfortable.I love this brand but in the black color the material is heavy and I needed to go up a sizeComfy jeans to use this coming spring!LOVE these jeans, however, for me, I should've gone 2 sizes smaller than what I wear in reg. jeans - that said, these are awesome and I'll be buying another pair in a smaller size!!Perfect length to ankle, great fit for a 5'4"plus size woman. Waist to crotch area fits nicely, will wear year round with just the simple single cuff.
